My name is Erik and I have been working as a professional guide in Alaska for a little over 33 years. In the last 16 years, my focus has been working with brown bears within Katmai National Park. Born on the Kenai Peninsula and raised in Homer, I have a great appreciation and respect for the unique ecosystem of this wondrous place I call home.
The extent of most of our trips have been boat based. Hiring a vessel that meets the needs of those I guide and exploring the coastline such as privately owned yachts and smaller boats ranging from 50-100ft to explore the coastline or guiding for privately owned yachts. I have been hired by film crews such as TLC, BBC, History Channel and have worked with professional photographers Aaron Baggenstos, Justin Reznick, Chris Morgan, Chris Dobbs, Chris Weston, Anthony Spencer and Tom Savage. I have trained guides for Natural Habitat other organizations in the Northwest.
Our company, Branch to the Wild, specializes in wildlife viewing along the Kenai Peninsula, Kachemak Bay State Park, and the Katmai reserves. Taking people to view glaciers, bears, otters, whales, and the other beautiful and rare wildlife of Alaska via boat and small planes sharing our love of Alaska. We hope to inspire others and reconnect them to our planet through awareness and experience. Share in our love of Alaska, and get to know our family and home on one of our wild excursions!
