Grizzly Coastal Bear Tour

Come see an Alaskan safari of the brown bears of Katmai. Witness fishing bears searching the rivers and streams for their next meal. Bring your cameras or just watch these beautiful large animals roam the meadows as they are silhouetted in the backdrop of wonder. Observe mothers and their cubs learning the process of what it means to survive as a bear on the Katmai coast. We will travel on our private cruising vessel with a small group of people, up to eight. This small number of people and an experienced guide, allow us to comfortably approach these bears safely in order not to disturb them. The guide will help you understand the environment and behavior of these Alaskan brown bears in order to create the best viewing opportunities and capture the photos to bring home to your loved ones.

You will fly by float plane paralleling the mountainous Kachemak State Park and travel across the Cook Inlet, down the Shelikof Strait to Katmai. Along this voyage, whales can be see below feeding as they travel through the ocean's waters. As the pilot radios to the vessel upon arrival this airplane on floats touches down with a quiet grace, opening you to a new world of wonder. Our chartered vessel includes: comfortable accommodations, seasoned captains, gourmet cook (all meals/food included), full bathroom, electricity, drinking water and many other attributes for ocean living. This vessel will allow us remote access to explore wild coastline. A small boat (skiff) allows us to go ashore for a closer view, exploring the beaches on foot. It is often true to see many bears coming down to feed or mate at certain times of the summer. At the end of our time, we will head back to Homer viewing whales sounding and other coastal backdrops.

Alaska Wildlife Photography tours

See Alaska through your lens under the tutelage of one of the many professional wildlife photographer we have had the pleasure of working in tandem to take the experience back with you through a photo story. Come along with family, friends or alone to discover Alaska’s wildlife and capture it for yourself. You will be in a small group learning photography skills,  gaining knowledge from a world published photographer. See nature's documentaries for yourself and witness Alaskan brown bears, whales, and many other species of wildlife. As we move down the coast, we often see bears dot the shoreline, but we can go ashore by small boat (skiff) for a closer view, exploring the beaches on foot. It is often true to see bears in large numbers coming down to feed or mate at certain times of the summer. Imagine yourself with cameras ready anticipating the bear’s behavior to capture the photo. Using the tides position, capture surprise shots where large bears and cubs dig for clams and graze on sedge grass in the meadows. Unique opportunities may arise as wolves can be spotted near the tall grasses lurking for extra scraps of left-overs from fishing bears.
