Each year I ready myself for the adventures that await, among the forests, tides and the vast wilderness that I call my office. Many would say I am lucky, but for me I am blessed. I grew up here among the forests that I called my playground. My brother and I made, in roads to the expansive countryside, outside the back door of our home and for some reason it stuck and I never returned.

When I step foot into the wilderness that I call home, I enter with an energy of calm. This is mirrored by my encounters, either human or animal. Our dance begins and we both meet to test the waters that we learned before.

This summer allowed for many special moments but one that sticks out the most, was a group so different in physicality and skill level, they worked together and listened intently to direction. This group of 10 moved without a sound, walked like a babbling broke and nestled into the rye grass only to hear a wolf howl to its mate. Cameras opened fire capturing this rare moment as I moved my way closer and laid beside this calm animal open to our presence.

Its moments like these that remind us we are not alone or dominant but apart of a life bigger than our own. Thank you, to you all that walked among the tide flats, exploring the calm and the moments that live on in memory.
